I used to enjoy going fishing even though I don’t like to eat fish. For me it was always catch and release. But over time, I realized that I was hurting the fish and the bait that I used and decided that I wasn’t going to fish anymore. I have a couple of dozen fish in my pond and they are smart. They recognize me, they know I feed them and they even nibble my fingers and allow me to “pet” them. They seem to understand that I am a friend and won’t hurt them. They do not react that way with other people, just with me. This shows intelligence.
